Chair's Report 2024

The purpose of the PSFA is to help provide additional facilities for the children at our school.

Pictor continues to provide a caring and safe learning environment for pupils and a place of support for our families thanks to the dedicated staff who have gone over and above to achieve this.

The primary function of the PTA is to raise funds and to bring our school community together through social events. Our Christmas Market and fair was a huge success with 10 local traders renting stalls. Family discos have continued through the year and in July we held a summer BBQ which was well attended. Last year we voted to pay for a film license, our first movie night is on December 13th, we hope it will lead to many more.

The PSFA have funded many things for Pictor including bikes, bike repairs, staffing at Bendrigg, the pantomime, the Animal Club visit and the upcoming donkey visit through fundraising events and grant applications. This year we also purchased two outdoor trampolines which are extremely popular.

Regarding fundraising it has been a very good year. We started 2024 with the news that we had been successful in the Tesco Stronger Starts application and in March learnt we had come in second place and received £1000.

Following a FB appeal for garden tools for our Outdoor Learning Forest Timperley 33 Club covered the cost of our Forest wish list and donated £1000.

In June another  application to Tesco was successful and we were lucky enough to receive a Golden Grant When we were chosen by a customer to receive £5000.

An appeal to Altrincham Rotary club to fund a visit to school by the Animal Club was successful and we received £580. Thanks to Jeanie and Lindsay for going to a Rotary meeting to accept the cheque

The 33 Club in Timperley has supported Pictor for many years, sadly they have now disbanded. They still had some funds and have donated £1000 to us.

Asda continue to support us with regular donations of things that we need, Catherine, their Community Champion helps out at events and brought Pudsey along on Children in Need Day.

We recently had a visit from a gentleman called Colin who lives in St Johns Lodge on Thorley Lane, he organises a Christmas bingo game for the elderly residents. They wanted to donate the proceeds to Pictor, he gave me £200 cash to buy Christmas presents from a previous bingo night and will donate the takings of the Christmas game to us.

We are also very grateful to parents who have organised their own fundraising events, in April  Sally, one of our parents raised £1000 by running the Manchester Marathon. In July a parent was joined by some staff in the Tuff Mudder challenge, the team raised £1600.

We have some projects that raise money throughout the year for very little work. The lottery has raised £1000 in a year. We get regular amounts form the clothes collection and we are registered with Easy Fundraising. We want to promote these regular incomes as they are so easy to run.

In 2025 we will continue to fundraise to improve our outdoor areas and support our children. We will encourage our membership to continue to grow.

Thank you for your support.
